We’re chatting about covers on Chapter Break. ‘Cause you know we all judge books by covers, whether we admit it or not. We judge the style, the color and font choices, and just the overall look. That might not keep us from reading the book, but we do still judge.

I don’t know what this book is about but I am picking it up! What a fun cover. Bright! Exciting! Eye catching!
Even with an eyeball on it! And tentacles!
I love the font. It is really snazzy and rad. Totally rad man. Great font style, great color gradient with the green/yellow, and love how the tentacles are going around and through the letters.
The author’s name font is really good too. I love the blue and white gradient. The colors being so different jives with the style of the crazy cover overall.
And that tag line has got my attention. As long as it isn’t broody and slow like the actual book it is spoofing. I love a good spoof.

Wow – I love this cover! I’ve been in an octopus phase since reading Remarkably Bright Creatures. This one does have a different vibe to that, though! I’m also thinking about grabbing this one. Especially with the Scalzi blurb at the top!
I love the black background. It makes all the colors pop. The tentacles, eye, and title fonts all work well together. And I like how the author’s name is a different color. It stands out, but still works with the rest of the cover.
Everything about this cover is working for me!
What are your thoughts on this cover?
