We’re chatting about covers on Chapter Break. ‘Cause you know we all judge books by covers, whether we admit it or not. We judge the style, the color and font choices, and just the overall look. That might not keep us from reading the book, but we do still judge.

I kind of like this cover! It is bright and fun and definitely witchy magical.
The font is fab and easy to read – well done there.
I love the bright glowing blue potion in the cauldron. But I do wish the cauldron was outlined or something to stand out better against the dark background.
I like the witch flying over the moon. It’s cliché but cute.
I’d pick it up to read the blurb.

I actually don’t mind this cover. It’s whimsical and fun but projects that witchy vibe. I especially like how the foreground blends well with the mountain, silhouette, and moon in the background. This cover is well-balanced.
I love the color schemes of blues and purples, especially with the cauldron, potion, and bubbles. The fluid flowing outside of the cauldron is well done, but total missed opportunity to use that as the I in Miscast!
The fonts in the title and the author’s name are clear and easy to read.
Overall, I’d totally pick up this cover and read the blurb.
