Here at Chapter Break, we don’t always write a full review of every book we read. Well, now we decided to do these monthly wrap-up posts with roundups of our reviews this month and mini-reviews to fill in the gaps. Enjoy!

And don’t forget to check out the full reviews listed at the end.

Cute little book counting down to a little one’s birthday. My son just had his birthday and he was counting down for a while so he could really relate to the book. It teaches counting from 10 down to zero (the birthday) and also shows how many tasks have to be done one a daily basis and as preparation for a party.

Great story about a little bear who just doesn’t want to hibernate. Kids everywhere are fighting bedtime stalling for just one more snack or drink, and that’s exactly what little bear is doing. A very relatable story for kids and moms alike. I also liked the facts about hibernation after the story ended. Lots of great facts and tidbits for a child to learn.

Wayward Son: 12/5 Stars. Would highly recommend. But only after you’ve read Fangirl and Carry On. These are a necessity! So great to find out what happens AFTER the Chosen One saves the world. Plus the interactions between Baz and Simon have all the feels. I wanted to highlight so many great quotes. But the scene that put it over the top was Simon, Baz, and Penny at a Renaissance Faire. That scene is a masterpiece!

The Toll: I loved this whole series. But the finale? It’s pretty dang amazing. It’s dystopia at it’s best. Scary enough to make me wonder and hope. I had all the feels while listening. There was even a moment when I yelled at my book! I did struggle with following the timeline at the beginning. It hops around a lot, which poses problems when I’m only kind of listening\paying attention. Highly recommend this!

I just received the first book in Shusterman’s series for Christmas so I’m excited to binge this series in 2020. I hope you had excellent holidays and have a fantastic 2020!
