Here at Chapter Break, we don’t always write a full review of every book we read. Well, now we decided to do these monthly wrap-up posts with roundups of our reviews this month and mini-reviews to fill in the gaps. Enjoy!

Problem Solving Ninja: A STEM Book for Kids About Becoming a Problem Solver (Ninja Life Hacks) We love the Ninja Hacks books! This one is another wonderful story. Problem Solving Ninja teaches kids how to – yes – solve problems. Rather than dwelling in the box of “I Can’t” the kids learn to think outside the box and try something new, consider another outcome, and solve their problem with “what if” questions. Great to read with kids.

With 3 review books this month, I’m impressed I managed to finish one other book. Audiobooks to the rescue!

A History of What Comes Next: Excellent audio on this one. The main characters are a mother and daughter. And the narrators are as well. (I learned that from the interview at the end!) This is an interesting take on the Space Race between Russia and the U.S., with fictional characters Mia and Sara driving the action. It’s also a good commentary on if you know 100 generations of history, and what’s likely to come next, do you accept your fate or fight against it. I really enjoyed this. Engaging characters, history lessons, action, an actual ending to the book, with a good set up for the next one.

I’m glad audio books have helped you enjoy more reading time. I find myself tuning them out and focusing on my task I’m doing, so I’m struggling with them. The Ninja book sounds exceptional to get kids in problem solving mode and out of the idea that there is only one way to solve a problem.
