For this discussion post, we joining the Tell Me Something Tuesday challenge run by Jen at That’s What I’m Talking About. Here’s the topic for this week. Which book world would you like to visit (real and/or fictional)?
Julie:
So this one is tough, isn’t it? My favorite book worlds are often the ones that would be absolutely terrifying to live in or visit IRL. I totally love to read about a fantasy world if the world building is done well, but the amount and variety of creepy critters that live there and could attack me? Yikes! I mean, I don’t actually ever want to come face to face with a vampire, or zombie, or succubus, or any other scary bitey or sucky monster. But I sure enjoy reading about them.
Lynn:
I’m with Julie on this. Sure historical fiction is super fun. But I have zero interest in living without antibiotics or running water. And when I think about sci fi, I’d probably end up in the middle of some kind of space battle, blown up or without oxygen. Learning if we can really hear explosions in the vacuum of space first hand does not sound fun! I agree. Let’s stick to reading about fun settings. And not having to worry about what kind of perils we’d face.
What about you?

RIght?! Those were my thoughts exactly! I would need for things to be calm. Like I’d love to visit with Kate and Curran – but not when they are under attack and after Roland was contained. I agree about space – as much as I’d love to do that, I feel like I’d be dead some how!

hah! Glad to know I’m not the only one dying in the void of space, Jen!
I have often thought it would be fun to visit someplace magical, just for a day. Say Hogwarts, or the the land in Stardust, where stars can become people, or Neverland. Just for a day, mind you. Just to get a feel for the place.
This month I am discussing what to do if one finds out an author is a terrible person. Anne@Headfullofbooks

I would totally love to visit Hogwarts too, but I’d be afraid of being turned into a muggle toad.
