Julie’s Review:
I know this is book 2 and I haven’t read the first book, so I wasn’t expecting all the silly antics of our Broadway singing kitty. And boy was she silly. She learned a lot of lessons in this book about jumping to conclusions and judging others before giving them a chance. I think that’s a great lesson to have kids pick up from reading this book: how important it is to have all the facts and not assume the worst about others. The story was cute, and to be honest my favorite character was not the main Kitty Katy, but her protective guard, Weasel. I liked the illustrations – they were quite vivid and looked hand-drawn, which is a fun look. The book ends with pages of facts about Central Park and even some Pirates. Check it out if your child enjoys animals and silliness with a life lesson.
