Author Interview

1. At what point did you decide to be an author, and what was your path to publication?

I’ve been interested in books my whole life, and I started writing as a teenager. What began as an imaginary world kept growing into something much bigger. I’m now an independent author, and BLACKRIDGE is Book One of The Unowned Saga, which I’ve planned as a seven-book series.

2. Describe your writing process. Do you outline, plot, and plan, or is your writing more organic?

I plan, but I also leave room for the characters to change things. I think about their histories, the factions they belong to, and the supernatural laws around them. Their personalities and morals can take the story in a different direction from the one I expected.

Music, movies, a scene, a feeling, or even one small idea can start something much bigger in my head. That’s how The Unowned Saga grew: one idea led to another until the world became much larger than I originally imagined.

3. What are some books or authors that you would recommend to our readers?

Stephenie Meyer has been a favorite for a long time, and The Host is my favorite book. It’s a story that has stayed with me.

4. Describe the book or series in 10 words or less for people just learning about it.

Dangerous loyalties, supernatural power, and a woman choosing for herself.

5. Is there anything you would like people to take away from your book?

I hope readers think about where protection ends and control begins. I write about dangerous loyalties, supernatural power, and people fighting to keep ownership of their choices. The supernatural elements make the stakes larger, but the characters and their choices are still the heart of the story.

6. Share some advice for aspiring authors. What advice would you give to your younger self?

Write the story and let it grow. Let your characters breathe like real people, with their own personalities, choices, and morals. Give them room to become who they are.
