We’re starting a new feature here on Chapter Break called Chat About Covers. ‘Cause you know we all judge books by covers, whether we admit it or not. We judge the style, the color and font choices, and just the overall look. That might not keep us from reading the book, but we do still judge.

Wow this cover. We’ve got wind in the hair people, I repeat, wind in the hair! He kind of looks like Jamie from Outlander, which is awkward to me because we already have a Jamie and he’s perfect.

I do like the fonts, easy to read and crisp. The little bit of curly to the font is nice.

I like the hills and the water backdrop. Nature in the highlands is lovely.

I see what Lynn means about the sword appearing to disappear, but I think it is held in front of the kilt, just hard to see with all the text over that area.

Not sure how I feel about the rope on his arms. Kinda out of place you either have rope or a sword but both in your hands at the same time?

Since this isn’t my usual genre anyway, I’ll pass ha.

OMG, I seriously chuckled when I saw this cover. Don’t get me wrong, I love a cheesy romance, especially a historical one set in Scotland! But sometimes, romance covers are just too much!

The wind-swept hair and perfectly groomed beard seriously clash with the rugged idea of a sea captain from the description. Also, It looks like the sword disappears into his kilt? That’s an odd way to carry a sword, if you ask me!

I do like the background cliffs and sea edge. Very nice photo work! And I never say no to a cover model in a kilt!

Honestly, I’d read this book. Even with the cheesy cover.
