2020 Discussion Challenge
We enjoyed participating in the Book Blog Discussion Challenges for previous years, even though our discussion posts have been fewer the longer we are doing this blog. But we’ll give it another go for 2020!
The Discussion Challenge is hosted by Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction and Shannon @ It Starts at Midnight!
The Details:
- The challenge runs from January 1st until December 31st, 2020. Sign-ups will remain open through December 12th, 2020.
- Discussions can be about whatever you want as long as it’s relevant to books or book blogging (no discussions about things that are completely off-topic like travel or fashion, etc). They can also be about you personally if it’s a get-to-know-you type post.
- Use the hashtag #LetsDiscuss2020 to share your progress and connect with other participants on Twitter.
The Levels:
1-10 – Discussion Dabbler
11-20 – Creative Conversationalist
21-30 – Chatty Kathy
31-40 – Terrifically Talkative
41+ – Gift of the Gab
We at Chapter Break are shooting for Discussion Dabbler since we’ve been wanting to do about one discussion post a month but have kinda been slacking in that department.
2020 Audiobook Challenge
Join Hot Listens and Caffeinated Reviewer for another year of audiobook fun.
Challenge Details
- Runs January 1, 2020 – December 31, 2020. You can join at any time.
- The goal is to find a new love for audios or to outdo yourself by listening to more audios in 2020 than you did in 2018.
- Books must be in audio format (CD, MP3, etc.)
- ANY genres count.
- Re-reads and crossovers from other reading challenges are allowed.
- You do not have to be a book blogger to participate; you can track your progress on Goodreads, Facebook, LibraryThing, etc.
Levels
- Newbie (I’ll give it a try) 1-5
- Weekend Warrior (I’m getting the hang of this) 5-10
- Stenographer (can listen while multitasking) 10-15
- Socially Awkward (Don’t talk to me) 15-20
- Binge Listener (Why read when someone can do it for you) 20-30
- My Precious (I had my earbuds surgically implanted) 30+
- Marathoner (Look Ma No Hands) 50+
- The 100 Club (Audiobook Elite) 100+
Julie’s 2020 Audiobook Challenge:
Yay for another fun year of the Audiobook Challenge. This is my favorite because you know by now that audiobooks are pretty much the ONLY way I read these days. But with no commute to work anymore (working remotely is a dream come true!) my listening time is almost as limited as my actual book reading time.
My goal:
- Binge Listener (Why read when someone can do it for you) 20-30
I didn’t make my goal last year, but I blame moving on that. What a crazy life this has been! Hopefully this year will be less chaotic and I can do at least 2 audiobooks a month.

I agree with Julie. Yay for the Audiobook Challenge. It’s like rewarding myself for something I already do!

I did make my goal last year – with 24 books. I’m sticking with the same achievable goal. Like Juile, I think 2 audiobooks per month is doable. Now to only listen to the books I’ve already purchased!

Yes, I love doing the Sultry Listeners Annual Audiobook Challenge. I set my goal slightly higher up from last year’s 60 books to 75 books for 2020. Happy listening, ladies!
