2026 Audiobook Challenge
Join Caffeinated Reviewer and That’s What I’m Talking About for the annual audiobook challenge.
Challenge Details
- Runs January 1, 2026– December 31, 2026. You can join at any time.
- The goal is to find a new love for audios or to outdo yourself by listening to more audios in 2026 than you did in 2025.
- Books must be in audio format (CD, MP3, etc.)
- All genres count.
- Re-reads and crossovers from other reading challenges are allowed.
- You do not have to be a book blogger to participate; you can track your progress on Goodreads, Facebook, etc. I recommend creating a shelf on Goodreads titled 2026 Audiobook Challenge. You can keep track and link the shelf.
- Grab the button and do a quick post about the challenge to help spread the word. You can post on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, BlueSky, Threads, Mastodon, your blog etc. about the challenge.
- Updates plus a giveaway will be posted twice during the year. The first update will be July 4, 2026, and the last update will take place on December 26, 2026. You’ll have one week to link up and share your progress and enter giveaway.

Julie’s 2026 Audiobook Challenge
Audiobooks are my favorite way to read, and lately I have been absolutely devouring audiobooks on double speed. I have Audible and have also fallen in love with Libby app getting to borrow audiobooks from the many libraries I have joined. Yes I have multiple library cards. And already over 50 holds. Let’s go!
My goal:
- Socially Awkward (Don’t talk to me) 15-20
- My Precious 30+
- Marathoner (Look Ma No Hands) 50+
Last year I beat my goal, mid year, updated my goal, and beat it again. So I’m just going to go insane and go for a big goal this year. Let’s go!
My Mid-Year Check-In:
Well halfway through the year and I am halfway to the goal. 25 books finished. Into the 26th. Right on schedule I suppose.
Here’s my 2026 Audiobook Challenge shelf on Goodreads.

I hit my (2025) 50 book goal just under the wire with a short story. Go me! Interested to see if I can hit that 50+ goal next year!
My goal:
- Marathoner (Look Ma No Hands) 50+
My Mid-Year Check-In:
I’m at more than 20 books halfway through the year. That’s a good sign at least. I need to keep up with the shorter books and fewer giant books that only count as one book!
My embedded shelf montage:

I hit my goal as well, so I think I’m upping to 50 for the year, although maybe I should just jump to the next level instead of all the way up to that one? We shall see! With listening to the Dungeon Crawler Carl books, and those being so long, it is cutting back on the number for me, so maybe I’ll back down to the other level? We will see in a couple months once I’m driving to work again how it goes.
